Temple’s tournament dreams still alive according to Lunardi

ESPN’s (and Saint Joseph’s) Joe Lunardi, arguably the most visible of all bracketologists, released his updated bracket earlier today and Temple is still one of the last four teams in.

Lunardi still has the Owls competing in the play-in games in Dayton, this time as an 11 seed competing against Marshall Henderson and Ole Miss. The Rebels (20-7, 9-5 SEC) are sixth in the nation in points scored at 79.1 points per game. They’ve struggled a little bit on a weak SEC, going 3-5 in their last eight games.

Lunardi also has Villanova joining Temple in Dayton as a 12 seed against Kentucky. La Salle is also in the field as an 11 seed against Pitt in Salt Lake City.

What a joke. They were last 4 in before crushing a good (50ish RPI) Charlotte team by 20 on the road. They beat LaSalle easily the game before, yet LaSalle is the same seed as Temple and not last 4 in? Villanova has 11 losses, including a recent loss to unseeded Seton Hall, AND they lost to Temple by double digits, yet Temple is still with them in the last 4 in?? Lunardi needs to retire.

No biggy. If Temple takes care of business against URI and Fordham and takes one of Detroit/VCU then they’ll probably be fine.
